When you are sad, I am there to make you smile
When you cry, I make the tears go away
When you need someone to listen to the destruction of your world, I will

This is what I let you see
But it is not reality

When you are sad, I am happy;
Gleeful, you deserve it
When you cry, I must suppress
An evilest grin which would reveal my disposition
When I am listening to the destruction of your world;
It is like a tale in fantasy, just desserts
For all those you in turn made cry

Inexplicably betrayed
Unreasonably lied to
Cheated, shunned, publicly humiliated
Ignored, for greater things

Such stupidity,
However maddening, I seek more
A twisted form of entertainment in its own right

When I am sad, I smile for you
My eyes are always dry
My world doesn’t matter, it barely exists

Trapped in the cycle
Ensnared in my darkness

So why then let the torture continue
Why then not just be rid of you
Go back to the life of the past
The answer is simple
It has no hope

And while my world is sad
Beyond tears
I would like to think not everybody’s has to be
And while, perhaps undeserving
You have my attention
I will guard you
And those who cross your path
